Under the motto Walk through mining in the 21st century, various experts analyzed a sector that ‘must be sustainable, profitable and respectful with the environment’, as stated by Fernando Barandalla, President of the Business Group, Minera de Navarra (Aemina), organizer of the event.

The opening of the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Navarra (CEN) and was attended by a large representation of Geoalcali, was the responsibility of the Director of Environment and Territorial Planning of the Government of Navarra, Eva García Balaguer, who highlighted the importance of implementing the concept of circular economy ‘as an integrating tool in a better man-agement of the use of natural resources.’

Among the speakers, GEEA Geologists manager and president of the Association of Companies of the Merindad de Estella (Laseme), Guillermo Erice, who addressed the paper Geotechnics, tool for the safety and feasibility of open and underground excavations.

For his part, Jorge Feito, Head of Operations of Cobre Las Cruces (Gerena, Sevilla) presented the current and future status of this project ‘in a socially and environmentally sensitive environment’.
