Geoalcali, the Government of Navarra and the Official Mining Chamber of Galicia have reached an agreement for the mutual transfer of educational material on mining and the promotion of activities to publicize the sector.

Thanks to this agreement, Geoalcali’s teaching materials such as its exhibition “The essential minerals for a sustainable future”, which contains, among other elements, 25 explanatory panels and an extensive collection of minerals from around the world donated by the IGME and different mining companies in Navarra, will travel to Galicia and be visited by thousands of students, teachers, and researchers from that community.

For their part, Geoalcali and the Government of Navarra, which have previously participated in the dissemination of the exhibition elements provided by the company, may make use of the educational material provided by the Galician Chamber – books and teaching manuals – aimed especially at students in Nursery, Primary and Secondary.

The agreement signed by Ricardo Pérez Merino, representing Geoalcali, the General Director of Industry, Energy and S3 Strategic Projects of the Government of Navarra, Yolanda Blanco Rodríguez, and the President of the Mining Chamber of Galicia, Juan de Dios Martín Aparicio, has the purpose of carrying out activities and projects in which the aforementioned materials are used for the sake of improving society’s knowledge of the role and characteristics of the mining sector.

The Mining Section of the General Directorate for Industry, Energy and Strategic Projects S3, together with the main associations and companies in the mining sector in Navarra, including Geoalcali SLU, is part of an outreach working group on mining, which aims to promote general knowledge of the role of the mining sector in society, as well as the uses and applications of mineral resources.
